2018 Beaumont Masterclass - Prone Positioning

M.E.D. Surgical were delighted with the success of the Beaumont Prone Positioning Masterclass on January 27^th.

Birth (Bennetts International Research Trust in Healthcare) came together with M.E.D. Surgical and Beaumont Hospital Dublin, to host the 2018 Masterclass to Share “Best Practice” in Prone Positioning. With a mixture of Presentations and Practical Sessions, this hand on course was aimed at all healthcare professionals throughout Ireland including; Professors, Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, CNMs, Anaesthetists and Clinical Educators.

With a total of 50 delegates and 5 M.E.D. Surgical staff on the day, there was 4 rooms for hands on workshops and demos featuring:

1) The Jackson Table and Bowframe for Legs, Chest and Thoracic Support.

Led by Mr Paul Bennet, UK.

2) Face Cushions for adequate care of the eyes.

Led by Alan Jameson, UK.

3) Pressure Mapping.

Led by Norma Currams, CNM 2, Trauma Theatre UHL.

4) Bariatric Cases.

Led by Bosco Harris, M.E.D. Surgical 

Healthcare professionals from all over Ireland joined together to share and expand their knowledge on a number of subjects relating to safer prone positioning.
