The 2018 Charter Day will include a plenary session on medico-legal issues and risk management, and the 94th Colles Lecture will be delivered by Dr David Ansell, Senior Vice President, Community Health Equity, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago in the US and is entitled, ‘How inequality kills’.

There will also be Honorary Fellowship Conferring’s on Dr Michael Collins, Senior Vice President for the Health Sciences, University of Massachusetts Chancellor, University of Massachusetts Medical School and Professor of Quantitative Health Sciences and Medicine Massachusetts in the US; Prof John Nicholls, Professor of Colorectal Surgery Imperial College London and Emeritus Consultant Surgeon, St Mark’s Hospital, London; and Prof Jatin Shah, Professor of Surgery at Cornell University in New York, US.
